I've been having this long going discussion with a friend of mine. Given the frequency of meeting people who own these cameras we began to wonder wheather or not they're really as good as all that. The question isn't regarding the quality of the cameras or really even the footage they capture, but more of the people buying them. It seems to me as though GoPros and their rivals are becoming the next in the line of "must have" accessories to boast your hardcore'ness'ism. I personally get sick of.seeing skiers and snowboarders cruising through the park, or straight lining the piste wearing rucksacks with shovels strapped to there backs, which are never used, but look the part....do I now need to buy a GoPro to be a good skier? Jeeselouise...

Posted Fri, 01/20/2012 - 18:27Hmmm... i hear what you're saying! However, I do have one... I try to only put it on to do something cool and when i think I'm going to get some good footage otherwise, yes - I feel like a tool!

Posted Sat, 01/21/2012 - 01:09I think the problem is most people that use them aren’t filming anything that’s worth filming just another accessory to make your di*k look bigger!! On the other hand it is “cool” for the kids to play with but at 200 quid a pop they aren’t the cheapest toys in the world!!
If you’re thinking about getting one I recon keep your cash and buy some new skis, or get some lessons you will enjoy yourself way more and look way steezyr…
Its always nice to see photos or some video but not when its footage of what your head looks like whilst skiing

Posted Sat, 02/11/2012 - 16:11I have to be honest, I have a GoPro which ive been using to film me getting back into snowbording (havent done it for a while) so while im not filming big jumps/flips/speeds I like it for keeping track of progress and looking back at my cousin fallin on his @rse.
its not because im trying to show off or anything just that i like to keep photos/videos of what i get up to on the mountain.
Ive worn it on my head once felt like a right c*ck so its chest mount looks less obvious.
