So here starts the La Grave Snow Conditions forum thread. There ain't a huge snowpack just now so lots of things are pretty thin & rocky. Having said that, there's loadsa great skiing still to be had! Skied down the upper Cote Fine couloir into Freaks (Les Freux) this morning and the snow was all over the place. We actually started out trying to ski a gully off the ridge below the top restaurant but I got 3 turns in and realised I'd picked up about 10 base shots already so boot packed back out. The Cote Fine had 'all-right' snow at the top, but quickly started getting heavy, then hardpack, then this, then that - all over the place. Lots of wind over last couple of days so bits of slab around too. Freaks was, er, interesting - steep bumps covered in a thin layer of slab in some places and troughing out to blue waterfall ice in others - nice! Actually really good craic though - like Bold Rush at Nevis Range on acid.
