Caviahue is a mountain village, located at 1,647m at the foot of the Copahue Volcano inside the Copahue Provincial Park. The surrounding landscape is stunning, with ancient monkey puzzle trees, lakes and lagoons. Caviahue is right in the centre of the Andes Mountain with the added bonus of hot springs and skiing!

Caviahue resort has some 1,000ha skiable terrain and has one of the longer seasons in the southern hemisphere - officially June 15 to September 30. Similar to most resorts in South America, Caviahue operates a high, medium and low season and prices reflect this accordingly. A lift pass in the high season is around $45 (USD) but only $25 (USD) in low season.
There are 8 ski runs some of which are located on the slopes of the volcano. Tree skiing and boarding is allowed and if you can face the walk to the summit there is an 8km off-piste descent from the rim of the volcano crater to the bottom of the resort.

Caviahue offers the usual resort amenities, equipment hire, a ski school, a range of accommodation and of course, those hot spring spas. There is one hotel at the base of the ski area and additional hotels and accommodation in nearby towns. The resort caters for alpine, nordic and randonée skiing, snowboarding, Siberian dogs sledding and snowshoeing trips and there is a small snowpark.
Travel
The resort is situated 1.5km from the city of Caviahue, 357km from the capital city of the province - Neuguen and some 1,500km from Buenos Aires. You can reach the resort by car, by driving allong National Route 22 and Provincial Routes 21 and 26.
