Introduction
Cerro Bayo is located 5km away from the town of Villa La Angostura with 21 pisted runs and access to great backcountry hiking and skiing. Bayo is a small resort with more of a local feel, which is reflected in the very reasonable prices. It has some great views across the Patagonian lakes and similar to Cerro Chapelco, Cerro Bayo offers some good tree runs.

The resort used to be a family run affair but since 2007 it has been owned by a private group and is now being marketed as a high end resort. In the coming years their are big plans for investment and developmebt including rumours of a possible gondola from Villa La Angostura to the resort.
Facilities and Services
Bayo caters for all levels of skiing and boarding from beginners to advanced, off-piste with some good black runs. There are roughly 200has of skiable terrain, not including the accessible back country. THere are 12 miles of pistes and some 700m in vertical drop.

Accommodation is found in Villa La Angostura which is small, but covers a hotel or two, inns, apartments and cabins. Services are more limited than some Argentinian resorts but there is equipment hire, lessons, a ski and snowboard school and a few restuarants.
