Introduction

Charlotte Pass Village is the highest village in Australia at 1,760m and is located in the heart of the Snowy Mountains.  It is situated 8kms past Perisher Valley and the resort of Perisher-Blue on the road towards Mount Kosciusko.  The resort is self contained and the only resort in Australia to be entirely snowbound in winter, meaning there is no access for ordinary vehicles and the resort can only be reached using specific snowtracked transport.  Transport to and from the resort will add around $50 AUD to your trip.

Charlotte Pass Village

The Village sits in a large bowl and you can ski right from the front door of one of the 11 club lodges or the Kosciusko Chalet  to the lifts.  The resort has accommodation for just over 600 guests.

The resort was opened in 1930 with the Kosciusko Chalet and this is considered by many to be the birthplace of modern skiing in Australia. 

Facilities and Services

For skiing and snowboarding at Charlotte's Pass the following facilities and services are available: lessons, rentals, ski shop, cross country trails, tobbogganing, general store, restaurants, apres ski bars, live entertainment and children's activities.  The resort caters to skiers and snowboarders.

The resort is also ideally placed for accessing back country skiing and touring the Snowy Mountains.   A range of tours are offered by experienced guides and instructors.

Charlotte Pass is family and kid friendly with a SunKid Conveyor Carpet for kids learning to ski and a playpark to amuse those who aren't yet ready. 

Finally there is a Freestyle Terrain Park and a Tubing Track.

In Summer

Charlotte Pass is also open during the summer months (November to March) when you can stay in the lodges, go trekking and enjoy the wildlife.
