Introduction
Corin Forest is a recreation facilitiy which focuses on mountain sports. It is located just south of Canberra (approx. 45 min drive) at 1,200m. Corin Forest is not a ski resort, however there are ambitious plans to extend the facilities and activites to include skiing and snowboarding.
Facilities and Services
Currently Corin Forest offers walking trails, a bobsleigh, waterslide, flying fox and camping. When sufficient natural snow falls there is a snowplay area and tobogganing.

The are no entry charges and parking is free. As part of financial assistance received post-2003 because of damaging bushfires, the site has developed a business plan around significant new developments. The Government has already implemented a number of improvements and committed around $30million (AUD). Of interest to SkiMountain is the following proposals:
- 12.5 ha of prepared terrain to enable skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing serviced by a full snowmaking system.
- 3 x 600m long chairlifts.
- 15,000 sqm of artificial surfacing.
- floodlighting of the 12.5 hectares permitting day/night use year round.
Supporting the above will will a: bed mountain guesthouse, chalets, equipment hire and a base station. Watch this space...........
Travel
Getting to Corin Forest is straightforward. The site is located on Canberra's Tourist Drive 5, off the Tidbinbilla Road, 12km up the Corin Road at Smokers Gap. Currently, there is no public transport available.
