Dinner-Plain

"Cross country resort twinned with Mount Hotham"

Introduction

Dinner-Plain is a small village located high in the Victoria Alps.  The resort has extremely limited skiing and is more commonly used as a base for accessing the larger resort of Mount Hotham which is 10km away. The village is located on the highest freehold land in Australia and was established in 1986.

Facilities and Services

The resort has one beginners drag lift and a range of cross country trails.  Equipment hire and shops are located in the village.  The selling point of the resort is the unique architecture and ambiance and its proximity to the much larger resort of Mount Hotham.  In terms of snow reliability and snowsports facilities it is very limited.   The resort does offer other activities such as skating, snow shoeing and toboganning.  In addition to Mount Hotham there are around 35kms of cross country trails.
