Invincible Snowfields is pretty unique in New Zealand - its a commercial field thats in the middle of no-where, though not that far from Paradise (literally!). Invincible might be commercial, but it feels like a club field - you can't drive there... you have to book it and get choppered in, then stay at their hut and use their tractor powered 700metre long rope tow. Invincible gives you 300m of vertical lift and as much backcountry as you have the energy for! Skiing at Invincible isn't designed for beginners - it is best suited to small teams of good skiers and boarders.
The Invincible Snowfields hut was built in 1995, sits at 1650metres and sleeps ten people.
