Introduction

Lake Mountain is another ski resort close to Melbourne, under 2hrs drive (120km).  It is a family-friendly resort aimed at beginners or the cross country enthusiast.  A relatively low altitude means snow can be marginal at either end of the season or in poor winters.

Facilities and Services

The resort offers cross country, some downhill skiing, snow showing and toboganning in addition to the usual bars, restaurants, ski hire and a ski school.  There are a number of snowplay areas, ideal for children and the total skiable area covers 2400has.

The nearest town to Lake Mountain is Marysville which is an easy 20 minute drive away.  To get to the resort you drive through the beautiful Yarra Valley.
