Introduction

Mount Baw Baw is one of the closest ski resorts to Melbourne, just a 2.5hr drive.  It's a modest resort but reaching it is easy, simply take a short drive along the Princes or Warburton Highways and follow the signs.   There are 6 lifts in total which provide access to some 30ha of skiing terrain.  There is lots of natural terrain and the resort is relatively inexpensive but being on a plateau there is practically no real off-piste skiing.  Being so close to Melbourne, it can also get busy. 

Facilities and Services

There is a variety of accommodation in at the resort: hotels, lodges and apartments.  Mount Baw Baw has the usual services: ski lessons, rentals and shops.  The resort caters for skiing, snowboarding, cross country and also offers snow tubing and tobogganing.  Although there is no formal terrain park there is a natural halfpipe, obstacles and jumps.
