Introduction

Mount Hotham is located along the Great Alpine Road in Victoria. The resort has a variety of terrain including a number of steep double diamond black runs.  Similar to Mount Buller and Mount Stirling, Mount Hotham is located just beside another resort - Dinner Plain and they share some facillities and services.

Facilities and Services

Mount Hotham offers the usual selection from: ski lessons, equipment hire, terrain parks, cross country skiing, dog sledding, snow mobiling, toboganning, snow kiting etc and a range of accommodation, shopping and apres ski.

The resort has three terrain/rail parks pitched at a range of abilitiest - the Easy Mac Rail Park, the Beginner Park and the Summit Terrain Park. There is also a skier/boarder cross course.  

Night skiing is available every Wednesday and Saturday night during the season for $7(AUD) between 6.30pm – 9.30pm. 

With a variety of black diamond (expert) runs Mount Hotham appeals to the more experience skier or boarder.  The resort isn't however, as well covered by snowmaking as some other resorts. In conjuction with slope aspects this can lead to more variable snow conditions.  A new $3 million (AUD) snowmaking upgrade for 2008 should improve the promblem.

Travel

Mount Hotham is 4.5hrs drive from Melbourne and 9 hrs from Sydney.  As with many other Australian resorts chains are a legal requirement when driving into the resort during winter.
