"Cross country resort twinned with Mount Buller"

Introduction

Mount Stirling is a cross country ski resort, located just across from the Mount Buller alpine resort.  It is around 225km from Melbourne. Both Mount Buller and Mount Stirling are accessed under the same gate entry fee.   Whereas, Mount Buller will cost around $90 (AUD) it is comparitivey cheap to ski at Mount Stirling but this is because it is all cross country trails and  there are no lifts or tows.

Facilities and Services

In addition to a wide range of groomed and unpisted cross country trails, Mount Stirling also offers, snow shoeing, snow camping, snowplay areas, telemarking and snowboarding.  The resort has a ski school, equipment hire and the usual apres ski.

Travel

Mount Stirling is a 3hr drive from Melbourne and is easy to access from Mansfield - the closest major town to the mountain.
