Introduction

Wolfgang Wallner is the second of two apline ski areas near Ushuaia, the capital of Tierra del Fuego, the other being Glacier El Martial.  There are about 7 snow centres / areas in and around Ushuaia but most are extremely small and not all cater for skiing or snow boarding.

The ski area is named after the first club member and president.

Facilities and Services

Wolfgang Wallner, is the lowest ski area in South America starting at a mere 140m and not rising much from that.  There are two tow lifts accessing a couple of runs.  The main run is considered to be upper intermediate to advanced. 

There are often moguls and locals will build jumps and ramps.  Off-piste skiing is not advisable due to the extremely thick bordering forest.

Night skiing is usually operated up to 3 nights a week and unsurprisingly this resort and Glacier El Martial are popular with local Ushuaia residents.

Just make your way to the capital Ushuaia, about a 3.5hr flight from Buenos Aires.
