If you've picked where you're going and you want to know what kit you should be using check out our independent ski reviews.
Ski France
If you want wide open bowls, massive resorts, tasty food and a certain, Je ne Sais Quoi, then France is definitely the place to go. Skiing terrain in France is as vast, steep and deep as you could possibly want and, believe it or not, they're catching up on the terrain park game (although it's taken long enough). There is definitely some brilliant terrain in France, but don't expect the locals to show to as much "Yee-ha" factor as the North Americans. The sunny continental climate, combine with big big mountains to make France a must visit skiing location.
Ski America
Skiing in the United States of America is all about the 'Yeee Haaaaaa' factor. The locals are usually very enthusiastic about their sport and definitely aren't afraid to show it, so expect there to be a buzz in the air. Many ski hills tend to favour intermediate to advanced skiers and beginners may find that there are few easy runs at many of the resorts. Most areas are blanketed in trees and the terrain parks are by far the best on the planet so things get pretty entertaining. Read on to find out how to get you some of the best snow the yanks have to offer...Ski Canada
If you're starting to think already about where to ski next winter season, why not browse through our guide to ski resorts in Canada. The Ski Mountain team spent several weeks this season visiting a whole heap of the ski resorts in western Canada. As well as finding some awesome snow, we also managed to put together a pretty comprehensive review of some of the best Canadian ski resorts.
Ski New Zealand
The NZ ski season has now kicked off - have you booked your ticket? As the Northern Hemisphere winter draws to a close, the keenest skiers don't just put their skis away in the cupboard for the next 8 months... they migrate to the Southern Hemisphere to the southern alps of New Zealand where some of the coolest ski resorts and an awesome vibe can be found. The skiers equivalent of an Endless Winter! Read on to find out how to plan the best summer skiing you've ever had...
Ski Bolivia
Want to take the chance to ski somewhere unique where there may not be any skiing in years to come (and no, we don't mean Scotland!), then why not browse our guide to ski resorts in Bolivia? Bolivia boasts the worlds highest ski resort, although this may soon change due to climate change. The focus for snowsports in Bolivia is mainly ski mountaineering but as it is home to the beautiful, rugged Andes, it is some destination.
Ski Argentina
Want some great summer Southern Hemisphere skiing without the crowds, then how about June to September in one of Argentina's ski resorts? Potentially South America's most developed skiing desintation, Argentina is somewhere the Ski Mountain team are keen to get to. Many of the ski resorts are located within the awesome Andes mountains and you can chose from everything from international luxury resorts to quiet local hills for your Argentina skiing experience.
Ski Australia
Like New Zealand, the ski season in Australia is during the UK summer, so ideal if you are missing the white stuff and want to ski year round. Most of Australia's skiing and snowboarding is located more or less between Sydney and Melbourne on the southeastern mountain ranges and there are lots of smaller ski resorts and club fields. On a good year the ski conditions in Oz can be great. Interested? then read on for our guide to skiing in Australia...
Ski Tasmania
Skiing in Tasmania is to Australia what skiing in Scotland is to France, nowhere near as reliable, but cheaper, quieter and if you get the conditions just as good. Tasmania is an island state of Australia and less of a skiing destination but more somewhere you might go skiing if you were visiting anyway. Read our Tasmania ski resort guides to see if it just might be for you.
Ski Lesotho
Potentially the least obvious skiing destination in the world is Lesotho, a land locked independent state in South Africa. The three commercial ski resorts are small and snow unpredictable but don't you fancy being able to say you've skied in Southern Africa? Yes, land of deserts and safaris! Read on for information on one of the most unusual skiing destinations in the world, where you even get to help put up your own draglifts.
Ski South Africa
Snow is not really that common in South Africa and therefore unsurprisingly we wouldn't recommend specifically travelling there to ski. However if you are there at the right time how about adding in some skiing or boarding to an existing holiday? Read our guide to two main South African ski resorts situated in Drakensberg Mountains.
